Biography

Postdoctoral Scientist, molecular virology at the Animal Health Trust (AHT) in Newmarket, UK; she also is past Medical and diagnostic Microbiology and Virology lecturer at University of Qatar. She received her doctorate from Queen’s University of Belfast in virology, the master’s degree from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in Medical Microbiology, and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Khartoum in Veterinary Medicine. She has published: Respiratory virus infection up-regulates TRPV1, TRPA1 and ASICS3 receptors on airway cells, PLOS ONE; Human Respiratory Syncytial Virus And Measles Virus Infection Regulates Cough Receptors On Bronchial Epithelial And Neuronal Cells, ATS Journals; and Biotechnology Knowledge Transfer between the Hammer of Resources and the Oak of the Terrorist Threat, Globalisation, Technology and Sustainable Development Book Series, Diaspora 2009 Conference Proceedings pp51-60. She is an educator and women rights activist and uses social networks to give lectures to Sudanese women in protecting against Female genital mutilation (FGM), domestic and sexual abuse and various educational topics that concerns women and children.
