Biography
Reem is Fellow CIPD, which is the highest level of membership in the Chartered Institute for Personnel Development, she achieved this through her extensive experience and valued contribution in the Human Resources arena. She worked in more than 12 countries across Europe and Africa, leading the capacity building and Talent development in these countries through her work in the oil & gas industry. She started with a local position as Training Manager for Shell Sudan. During this time, Reem was given the Africa Crystal Award for leading the culture change for Sudan. She was then given a regional opportunity in Shell Africa as Regional Training Manager working in eight countries in Africa supporting the capacity building and people development agenda. Given her achievements, she was then given an international role as HR Business Partner for Europe, based in Holland working across UK, Norway and Holland. During this time Reem was given the Special Recognition Award for working collaboratively across the region and achieving the strategic goals of the function. On her move to London, Reem Joined BP as Senior Talent Programme Manager, where she lead the development of more than 500 senior leaders globally for BP, with a success rate of over 93%. The development programmes she established also covered women development, in support of ensuring the glass ceiling is broke, and it was, as more than 75% of females from her programme were able to secure senior roles in less than five years. Passionate about people development, Reem delivered several sessions at the University of Khartoum, and engaged with several NGOs to support leadership and youth development activities. In 2006, Reem established the Sudanese Human Resources Management Society, which assisted in the training and development of HR personnel in Sudan, as a strong cadre in the labour market. The Society was addressed by the minster of Human Resources in Sudan. A graduated of Social Studies from the University of Khartoum, and a holder of a Master Degree in HR Management from the University of Bedfordshire, Reem continued her development, with certifications on Myers Briggs and Insights Discovery as psychometric tools to support her in enriching her conversations and development activities. Reem did not stop here and is now working on a degree in Cognitive Behaviour. When you meet Reem, you will notice the American accent, which comes from her early years as she lived and studied in California, but her Arabic accent will not fool you!
